Kentucky limestone miners win UMWA representation

A bargaining unit of 148 miners today voted for United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) representation at Carmeuse Lime Co. in Maysville, Ky.
Today's vote is the culmination of a very long struggle by Carmeuse workers to gain a collective voice on the job, said UMWA International President Cecil E. Roberts. It gives me great pleasure to welcome them to our union family.
